What's the best Arabic dub ever shipped — and what made it work?

We argue about broken Arabic all the time — but which games actually got the dub right? For me the bar was set by the studios that hired real voice directors instead of treating VO as an afterthought. Curious what everyone else rates as the gold standard, and specifically what made it land: casting, direction, dialect choice, mixing?

Casting is everything. The moment you hear a voice that clearly recorded the lines phonetically without understanding them, it's over. The best dubs use actors who can act in Arabic, not just read it.

From the dev side: the ones that work budgeted for VO from the start. You can't bolt a good dub on at the end — the pipeline has to expect it, and the writers have to leave room for Arabic sentence length, which runs longer than English more often than people think.

Nobody's said it yet so I will — dialect. A pan-regional MSA dub feels safe but flat. The dubs I remember picked a lane and committed. It alienates some players and wins others completely.
